yes. we are a caribbean-registered production company with our headquarters and operations based in the caribbean. we work directly with international clients, agencies, broadcasters, and production companies.

unlike worldwide operating production companies that subcontract local partners, we are the local caribbean production company. this gives our clients direct access to over 25 years of regional experience, established relationships, trusted local crews, and in-depth knowledge of each island's filming requirements.

our team combines experienced caribbean-based international professionals with highly skilled local crews. when productions span multiple islands, we collaborate with our trusted network of local production partners to provide the right crew and equipment while minimizing travel costs and maximizing efficiency.

if you are bringing your own production crew or equipment into the caribbean, we can also arrange the necessary permits, customs documentation, and import paperwork upon request.

yes we were. although you may find some of the same photos and videos featured on other production companies' websites, i can confirm that CARIBBEAN PRODUCTION was hired by the foreign production company or producer to provide the production services for every project featured on PROJECTS section and all other pages with production samples of this website.

unfortunately, some crew members, freelancers, and support companies also display these productions in their own portfolios without clearly stating the capacity in which they participated. usually they get hired and paid by CARIBBEAN PRODUCTION to perform a specific service as either subcontractors or crew members.

this lack of clarification can create the misleading impression that the support crew and companies managed or produced the entire production, which is not the case.

certainly, we will just need your script, your approx budget, and if available – a mood board or some location images that you have in mind and how many days you plan. we will start by suggesting the best suitable island along with a cost quote – we respond within 24 h.

yes, not a problem, we just have to make sure that all crew papers and permits apply for all those islands you would like to film, or request additional permits on time.

yes, as long as the budget is available for prop scouting and transport. we also have good designers and builders for unusual props (depending on the requirements).

in the unlikely event of unpre-viewed weather changes we will try to change the schedule and do the indoor shoots instead (if any), work our way through a bad weather day with location and light changes, take a day off in the worst case scenario like to see ac, but depending on the season i recommend to the client to have a bad weather day insurance.

yes, we have been doing that before – where a whole film team was filming where they had problems with the fixer and they asked if we could provide the follow up locations on another island for them to continue the shoot and provide all local production crew, equipment, props, extras etc ... so they could use their first part of the production without re-filming and the seamless finish of the second part on our suggested island. 
another time a producer called as their shoot had a last minute country/location change. they managed to change the flights for all and we had new accommodation, crew, locations, transportation, props in place for their arrival the next day – we love challenges.

many people don’t seem to be aware that the caribbean is a region, not a country. the caribbean consists of many different islands, and most islands are at the same time an independent country. an exception are the french islands of saint-martin, guadeloupe, st. barts and martinique, they belong to france. a few other small islands belong to the uk or to usa or are part of the next bigger island like trinidad & tobago or antigua & barbuda. the islands don’t have all the same rules and regulations for permits and customs – but in general caribbean islands welcome productions and are helpful to make it work. they are all interested to support new business and income opportunities.

so the biggest mistake is to select pretty locations assuming that they are together on one big island – just because it says “caribbean”. however if you send us the location images that you like best, we can recommend the one island where you might find all that you were looking for - easy accessibility, locations, props, crew, equipment....and anythging else you need.

yes, this is how we start an estimate, once you contact us for a production quote. without knowing all your details, we include all costs that might occur, and we can then remove what is not needed.

yes, we like to work with foreign production companies, who need support with a shoot for their client. we also co-operate with collegues of foreign production companies when the client likes to bring all or some of them along.

yes, no problem, let us know where you need support and we will focus on that. we are used to that from the early days of productions in the caribbean.

yes, on small productions they are handling all that occurs, on bigger productions they are part of the production crew

you tell us what shoot you are planning and we suggest the according locations, or, if you already know what the locations should look like, then send us a sketch or photos of similar locations and we can match those and suggest the island where you can best find those.
if you already know what island you would like to shoot on we will try to get those locations right there. please be aware that not all islands have the same locations, some do and some don’t have:
waterfalls, rivers, white beaches, black beaches, grassland, hills, mangroves, deserted small islands around, etc...but we know where you will find what you are looking for.
we will check if we do have images in our location archive and will send a selection as reference to you.

if you would like to see actual shots and want us to take fresh photographs and videos of the locations we will do so. once you have decided on the location you want and when and for how long, we will contact the owner or relevant ministry for permission to film there and negotiate the fees.

if the client can offer a deal that would be interesting for the location owner, we can negotiate that as well. once all is decided we draw a contract with conditions and rates that the parties involved will sign and/or the fees will be paid in advance.

yes we can – in most cases – it is first of all the nature of the shoot that will decide the willingness of the owner to agree and then it is either a question:

• of the amount of money that is available for the location
• or if the exposure is beneficial to the owner for instance in a high end magazine, a luxurious advertising brand or
• or if it is interesting for government agencies to attract visitors or other financial support for new island projects

i’m used to financial negotiations, and will do this as part of the location organizing process.

yes we do – it all depends on what exactly (luxurious, middle class/ typical local) you are looking for. are you open to the island where we could find what you are looking for or are you hooked on an island where you need the location and/or props to be? yachts we can move, but when it comes to buildings, – ”the prophet has to come to the mountain”

yes we can, but we do need permission from the ministry.
underwater filming is easy, we have professional local cameramen with underwater cameras, and there is no problem to bring an underwater camera along (with the accompanied customs papers). but for drones there are restrictions to import on islands - even temporary.
most islands do have qualified local drone shooter with permanent permits, but they will have to apply for each drone shoot a permit for the requested location. this is not expensive and doesn’t take long, but it is necessary. the foreign drone shooter can still come along to supervise the drone filming.

for a film crew a drone is a flying camera, for the military it is a flying weapon.... besides islands are small and the airport is close-by wherever you are. we were filming the DJI COMMERCIAL with 8 big new drones to be imported and handled by their own drone pilot, he had to hand in his international permits and insurance papers beforehand – to get them through customs – but we did it. 
this is just a reminder to take the regulations serious if the shoot should be pleasant.
