Pyrate style editorial fashion shoot for ‘032c’ magazine Germany

BARBADOS’ TALENTS PRESENT INTERNATIONAL FASHION

For the cutting-edge German magazine 032c we had organized a very different kind of editorial shoot - because it is a very different kind of magazine. It was called “the magazine with a brutal elegance”, according to the New York Times, INDUSTRIE Magazine credited 032c with setting & quote: “the most significant editorial agenda since “The Face.”

032c was awarded the German media award Lead Magazine of the Year in 2008, and it is still on-trend today. Its fashion editorials have been awarded Lead Mood and Fashion Photography awards. Barbados’ own goddess of music, Rihanna was on a cover of 032c.

Our way of producing matched the PYRATE STYLE clothes collection that we were photographing in Barbados.

It was a guerilla style shoot with a very small crew – from the German 032c team came Leah Miriam Hess as Stylist/ Art director and Marc Goehring as photographer, Troy Burgess was the local Barbados PA-all rounder - casting director, props organizer, set dresser, location finder, etc.

With only the location idea in mind, we were finding local people and props along the way. It was a fun shoot especially to see how everybody was interested and played along. The result is a lively refreshing editorial photo series – like snap shots of young Barbados’ weekend life.
